Team – Pescafresh

Pescafresh, headed by Sangram Sawant, an avid seafood loyalist, was conceived by him over a decade ago as India’s first  Direct to consumer seafood and meats brand.

While working for Great Northern Products Ltd, a seafood distribution company in the US, he set in motion, a business plan of launching a service  in India  of retailing fresh seafood in order to create a brand that relies on taking freshness and customer service to the next level.

Sangram’s mission became a reality in July, 2004 when he founded Pescafresh. What started as a shoestring venture initially in central Mumbai, currently is delivering fresh seafood and other meats including its No Antibiotics Ever Chicken and Eggs, and Tender Red Mutton to over 1,00,000  households in Mumbai.

Having spent almost a decade in the seafood and meat industry and building a ‘Shore to Door’ and ‘Farm to Fork’ brand like Pescafresh, Sangram understands the pulse of the fresh meat industry as well as the challenges that are faced in the supply chain to the last link.

Sangram was invited to speak as a panellist at the Food & Bev Tech 2014, by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He was also invited at the National Council for Food Processing arranged by CII to talk on how technology plays an important part in connecting the farmer, processer and retailer.

Apart from various speaking invitations across industry associations, he is also empanelled as a Thoughts and Insights leader with Gerhson Lehrman Group (GLG, an internationally renowned insights organization), where he advises various multinationals on the Indian Seafood and Meats industry.

In 2021, he was invited by the Economist London as a speaker during the World Ocean summit 2021 along with celebrated world leaders and United Nations officials.
